Shrouded Love
Shrouded love is inspired by the peaceful and calm waters of love and beauty that remain ever present throughout our lives and how they accompany us through all our journeys whether we are aware of them or not.
The new collection Shrouded is inspired by all the ways that love joy and beauty are hidden in the everyday by our perceptions beliefs and views. How underneath all the noise and complexity of the world and life itself, love, joy and beauty are ever present shrouded by false ideas that hide its real essence. This collection of mixed media paintings is a homage to what lies beneath.
These large scale mixed media paintings use abstract backgrounds of deep hues of crimson, deep blues and greens amidst a juxtaposition of detailed pattern and form in vibrant colours sitting alongside one another in both their simplicity and complexities. Strokes of gold metallics shimmer throughout as guiding lights.
All paintings are created on Arches Aquarelle 300gsm watercolour paper using mixed media collage ranging from acrylics, inks, oil pastels and gold leaf.
